SF Men Knit Pride Blanket Project

The rainbow flag is an iconic symbol of the LGBTQ Community. In the spirit of the importance of this symbol, this Pride Blanket project, organized by our good member Will Clayton, was knitted/ crocheted by local members of the social group, SF Men Knit. The SF Men Knit members were invited to knit or crochet 7” x 7” squares using their choice of colors from the rainbow flag - red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. The colors symbolize the many different people who shape our community, while the size of each square celebrates a 7 square mile section of our beautiful city.

The squares were then arranged into the iconic bands that make up the Pride Flag and were stitched together. Our local yarn shop, ImagiKnit, put it on display and, due to popular demand, quite literally, extended the amount of time it was in the front window by about two weeks!
